Ms. Sarah is not new to MELC, but this is her first year as lead teacher in one of our 3 year old classrooms. She is engaging with her activities, caring to our students, and always ready to learn something new. We are lucky to have her on our staff and she is doing some amazing things with our little wildcats. Thank you!
She was asked what does being a teacher mean to her. "To me being a teacher means to be someone who makes a positive impact on a child. Not only in their love for school and learning but to be kind to others and become independent. Encouraging them to explore and learn in a safe environment where they are free to be themselves. Being someone they look forward to seeing everyday and seeing them light up when they see you outside of school really does show what an influence you have in their lives. It really is rewarding in many ways." -Ms. Sarah

Ms. Jennie has been teaching at MELC for 10 years. She is the kindest human, phenomenal teacher, and has great work ethic. She has so much love for our little wildcats, thank you for sharing your passion.
Being a teacher means...
Being a warm hug and a big smile.
Providing a safe place in a not so safe world.
Making learning fun so children will become lifelong learners.
Helping children to believe in themselves.
Teaching children to be kind and to accept and respect others.
Planting seeds that continue to grow beyond my classroom.
Leaving a tiny imprint that remains even when I'm gone.
-Ms. Jennie

Mrs. Camacho has been in Early Childhood for 20+ years, and this is her first year teaching at MELC. She brings knowledge and experience to our building. She is patient, hardworking, and passionate. Thank you for all you do for our little wildcats.
She was asked what does being a teacher mean to her. "For me personally, there is something special about being at the beginning of a child's educational journey. The wonder and the wealth of possibilities the future holds in this tiny pocket of time is something no words can describe. The excitement that a preschooler has ABOUT EVERYTHING is contagious and sparking a love of learning that lasts a lifetime is magical to say the least. The richness that this career has provided in my life is something that I would compare to motherhood something so dear and precious to my heart." -Mrs. Camacho

Reminder: The Wildkitten Den & Wildcat Club will be closing early, at 4:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday January 12th, for staff training. If you have any questions please give us a call at 928-865-0631. Thank you!

Ms. Christie has been teaching our 4 year old students for 6 years. She brings a special light to our building. She is enthusiastic, engaging to her students, and loving. She has a song for every moment in her classroom, and our students love it. Thank you for all you do for our little wildcats.
She was asked what does being a teacher mean to her. "Fulfilling my dream as a child that I wanted to grow up and be a teacher. Growing up some of my teachers made ever lasting impressions on me, some that go all the way back to Kindergarten. I always wanted to be that person for children. To teach them school is fun and safe. To make them feel important and loved the second they walk through my door. I’ve been asked many times in the years “how do you do it?” And my simple answer is “I love what I do”. Teaching has made me who I am today and I am forever thankful for this career. And I love the most that my daughter wants to follow my foot steps." -Ms. Christie

Ms. Vanessa has been teaching 9 years at Morenci Early Learning. She is absolutely amazing and we are lucky to have her teaching our 3 years olds. She is hardworking, a life-long learner, and caring to all. Thank you for all you do for our little wildcats.
She was asked what does being a teacher mean to her. "To me, being a teacher is about teaching the children the knowledge necessary to be successful in school. More importantly, I also believe it is not all about the abc's and 123's. I think being a teacher is taking on a role similar to a parents. You become a person who supports children in acquiring the skills to be successful in life. While also showing them how to be a good person." -Ms. Vanessa

On December 15th, a team from Discovery Park and the Eastern Arizona Science Initiative (EASI) gave our Earth Science students an opportunity to study astronomy in their Starlab dome. Thanks to EASI for hosting the activities and to Ms. Calapini for making the arrangements!
