Do you wanna build a snowman??
Mrs. Savage's 7th grade math students geared up for learning in the new semester by engaging in a cross curricular STEM activity. Using Next Generation Science Standards, math students built snowmen within specified criteria and constraints. They then analyzed their builds and generated ideas to improve on future builds. The best part was the laughter, pride, and cooperation these students showed during the activity.

Good morning parents! We wanted to remind everyone that the Wildkitten Den and Wildcat Club will be closed tomorrow, December 23rd as well as Monday, December 26th. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas, and we will see you next week! :)
Fairbanks Families: This is the schedule for final exams. Carpentry and Athletic Development students will not report to Morenci High School at all this week.
Dr. Adams recognized the Students of the Month for November at the board meeting this past Monday. Congratulations to Emma Ferrell (Kindergarten), Amelia Ortega (1st Grade), Hannah Lopez (2nd Grade), Hayley Silva (3rd Grade) and Diamond Vozza (4th Grade).
We had two special visitors at Morenci Early Learning Center today. Thank you Morenci Fire for letting Santa and the Grinch come park the sleigh at the fire station and bring them down to see our students.
Our pre-k students are loving the snow today! They're also loving warming back up with some hot coco!
Coretta Scott King once said, "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." On December 7, Fairbanks Middle School students rotated through a series of presentations centered around some of the issues that are affecting our youth and the community. We would like to thank the following community members for volunteering their time to come in and speak. Our community is a better place because you all are in it! THANK YOU!
Last night, Fairbanks 7th and 8th grade students who earned the first semester reward were taken to Tucson to watch a hockey game between the Tucson Roadrunners and the Ontario Reign. One of the best parts of our older students' reward trips is seeing their faces, as many of them are experiencing some things for the first time. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN, WILDCATS!
Bring your littles this Saturday to see Santa! We are happy to announce that we have lowered the fees. Start time is at 8 am in the MHS MPR. It will be a fun time for all!!
Fairbanks Families:
Due to construction near HWY 191 and Mountain Ave, MUSD will alter the bus stop for the following areas: Carwash, Sycamore Street, and Poplar Street. Students who utilize these stops will be picked up and dropped off at Sunset Church.
This change will occur from Monday, December 12, through Monday, December 19. Regular bus routes will resume on Tuesday, December 20.

Ho-Ho-Ho! We can't wait for you to see all the awesome gifts in our holiday shop at Metcalf Elementary. There is something for everyone...mom, dad, grandparents, siblings and friends. Don't forget your furry family members too! Shopping starts Monday 12/5 and ends Friday 12/9 in the MPR. Tomorrow, December 7, is an Early Release day and Fairbanks is using it as an opportunity for our students to participate in various Teen Talks. School and community leaders will give 30-minute presentations to address some of the issues impacting our youth, as well as our community. Intro to Carpentry and Athletic Development students are to report to Fairbanks and meet in the gym for 1st period attendance.

The Soccer game scheduled for tomorrow December 6, 2022 has been moved due to transportation issues for the visiting team. The game will now be played on January 5, 2023.
Morenci Junior High Lady Cats Basketball will be hosting their 1st annual Jingle Ball Game on December, 8th 2022, as they take on the Pima Roughriders.
Our 7th grade girls will play at 4 o’clock and 8th grade girls will play at 5 o’clock.
The entry fee for the game will be either 1 can of food or one unwrapped toy, 5 and under are free. All the donations will go to the Lions Club who will then distribute these goods to families in the community.
