The Morenci High School Pride Band will be having a challenging and fun band camp experience this summer. Ms. Benedetta Cargile takes the helm and wants the band to be prepared for halftime performances and marching competitions.
For two weeks in July, right before school starts, the band will be learning the basics of marching, musicianship, and teamwork. Stressing discipline, hard work, and preparation the camp will be designed to take the band to the next level and beyond.
Information is in the attached flyer. Parents and students are encouraged to make sure they know the details and become committed to the hard work and practice it takes to be successful.
A new element this year is a required physical. The school will be offering free physicals- look for more information and details in future communications.
Information is included on the flyer about signing up on the Remind app- there's one for students and one for parents. This is the best way to stay included on important communication.
(Please note that Crocs are NOT allowed for band camp!)
We look forward to a great marching season behind Ms. Cargile's vision and direction!

Today, a critical incident involving law enforcement occurred in our community. Morenci School District has an emergency lockdown plan and is prepared to enact it when necessary. As events unfold off-campus, our district relies on information from local law enforcement to make informed decisions on implementing lockdown procedures to safeguard students and staff. Local law enforcement communicated to MUSD that while this was a critical incident, it was contained and did not require placing our schools in lockdown.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. As always, we encourage our community to stay aware and report any concerns, contributing to the ongoing safety of everyone in our community.
