On September 10th Morenci Schools will conduct a lockdown drill. During the lockdown drill, you may see law enforcement and fire department vehicles around our district. Please do not be alarmed if you see emergency responders at the school and if you are unable to contact our front office. Although we hope the need to utilize our crisis protocols never arises, it is the goal of Morenci Schools to continually test and improve upon our practices and procedures to ensure the safety of our students. We will publish a notice when the drill occurs on our website (www.morenci.org) and Facebook page. Thank you for your cooperation.

A couple of years ago, Mrs. Sabrina Gonzales started offering crocheting as an option for her Cat Academy class. Students have been enjoying this art ever since. They find that crocheting and visiting are a nice break form their daily stresses. They are able to relax and visit while they work. Beginners learn the basics, making butterflies and flowers, while more advanced students are able to work on their own individual projects. Last year, one of Mrs. Gonzales's students won Best of Show at the Greenlee County Fair!

Starting Monday, August 26, Morenci Unified School District will adjust bus stops in the Clifton area to enhance safety and ensure smooth transportation for our students.
Please take a moment to review the updated bus stop locations in the image below.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our students safe!

Mr. Goodman recognized the August Student of the Month. He asked the office staff to choose a student. Congratulations to Jacob Verdugo! Great Job!
Mr. Goodman also recognized two Staffultys for the month of August. Amanda Davis is an amazing teacher, caring, funny and respectful to every student. She has great pride in our school and makes people feel confident about themselves. We are grateful to have Mrs. Davis return to MHS! Also recognized is Sabyn Martinez. She is so kind and patient with all of her students . She is always there when you need her help. She is such an amazing asset to MHS!
