Attention Parents of Morenci High School! We are partnering with a team of research scientists and educational specialists to bring an excellent opportunity!
The aim is to bring authentic research experience into the classroom. We will bring together high school students, scientists, and communities to design and carry out studies in environmental neuroscience.
We will be using MindHive. This is a multidimensional tool that consists of hands-on tools that support students in participating in and learning from studies designed by professional brain scientists and other students; generating their own research questions and hypotheses; designing research studies; giving and receiving peer feedback; collecting and analyzing data; and presenting their results.
Students learn about basic principles and methods in the human brain and behavior science, engage in questions about research ethics and citizen science, and discuss the processes that drive scientific discovery and rigor.
We are excited to bring this opportunity to our school. If you have any questions, feel free to get in contact!
Please come out and support our Fairbanks Spelling Bee Participants as they compete in the District Spelling Bee taking place tonight at 6 pm in the Metcalf Multipurpose Room. Good luck, Wildcats!
As we honor School Board Recognition Month this January, Morenci Unified School District extends its appreciation to our dedicated Governing Board Members: Kelly Baker, Ron Campbell, and Steve Leyba. With over 30 years of combined board experience, each member invests time with a heartfelt commitment to prioritizing students. Their influence plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Morenci Schools.
We appreciate their role as a vital link between our community and schools. Their vision, trust, and empowerment lay the foundation for our administration, staff, and students to achieve shared educational goals. Join us in expressing gratitude to the MUSD Governing Board for their outstanding service. The holiday mission of the MUSD Empowerment Students was to bring joy and warmth to the Haven Health Residents. Thanks to a community-supported burrito sale and generous donations, the students raised $1119 to fulfill the residents' wish list!
Eighty blankets, lotions, chapsticks, thirty stuffed animals, seventeen babies, ribbons, and eighty stockings—every single item delivered brought smiles and gratitude.
The residents were delighted; some expressed it was an experience like no other. The kids joyfully sang Christmas carols and distributed gifts.
The lesson learned today: The joy of giving is all about lighting up someone else's world with the warmth of your heart. Carlos found joy in their smiles, Kayslyn loved giving, and Miranda cherished giving gifts and singing. #happyholidays #wearemorenci
