Good afternoon, Wildcat Families,
This important notice is being sent to all students, staff, and community members in our Student Information System.
In partnership with the Clifton Police Department (CPD) and the Greenlee County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), we are expanding our policy regarding student congregations. Currently, students are not allowed to congregate at the District Office property during evening or nighttime hours. This policy is now extended to include all school properties, including Morenci High School, Fairbanks Middle School, and Metcalf Elementary School campuses.
Students conducting school business are still allowed to park on campus for the duration of that business. However, loitering, congregating, or assembling on any of these campuses during evening or nighttime hours is strictly prohibited.
We appreciate your support. Clifton police and the Sheriff’s office will monitor and issue citations where necessary.

Parents/guardians are encouraged to contact the school using the email or QR code attached if your student could benefit from one of these groups or if they need any other additional support!

A Message from Fairbanks Middle School:
Thank you to those who came to Meet the Teacher Night at FMS! Students who missed the event can stop by the office in the morning to pick up schedules. Students are welcome to enter classrooms beginning at 7:40 am, and classes will begin promptly at 8:00 am. All FMS students who are enrolled at MHS for 1st period should report to the FMS Gym for the first day of school. We are excited to see you in the morning, go set those alarm clocks!

If you were not able attend registraton this week, you can stop by the FMS office Monday-Friday of next week to register your student and pay fees. Hello FMS Families! Can you believe students will return to campus in 16 days!? In preparation for the new school year, this is a reminder that registration days started today! Registration days are for ALL FMS students per the schedule attached. This is a time for parents/guardians to complete registration forms and pay fees (CASH ONLY). Please see the attached for more information!
Happy Summer, Metcalf Families! A welcome back letter with important information is in the mail for you. Postcards from your child's teacher will also be mailed this week with an invitation to meet the teacher before school starts. The welcome back letter can also be found on our website and the MUSD app. See you soon!
The annual back-to-school breakfast for the Class of 2025 is slated for the morning of July 24th. Courtesy of the Morenci Fire Association, Seniors will be able to enjoy a full breakfast beginning at 6:45 AM in the high school MPR. Families and friends can join in for donuts and drinks starting at 7:15 AM. This all leads up to the annual tradition of Seniors running the hallways to kick-off their last 180 days of high school. Parking for Seniors will be in the Senior parking lot. Families and friends can park in the football field parking lot. If you have a connection to the Class of 2025, put this annual tradition on your calendar!
The first day of school is only a month away! High school students will be registering for classes on July 16-18, beginning with Seniors and Juniors on the 16th. Attached is a calendar with important general information and some dates to put on your back to school calendar. We look forward to having your kids back in the building with us!

Attention MHS Parents and Students! Dr. Felicia Zerwas will be hosting a Summer Research Camp that offers students the opportunity to create research questions and design studies. There is no cost and lunch will be provided to students. Please see the flyer for details!
MUSD will be offering another opportunity for FMS and MHS student athletes to receive a free physical. Physicals will be offered at MHS on July 22nd from 9-4. Physical packets can be filled out online and submitted using the link below.
