On December 9th Metcalf Elementary's Catalina Martinez was recognized as the Arizona State Board of Education's Student of the Month, highlighting outstanding students across Arizona. At the State Capitol, she delivered a report about her school and received a plaque. Catalina was nominated by her principal, Dr. Adams, for being a strong youth role model.  She is a 4th Grader and the Student Council President at Metcalf Elementary, serving and leading over 650 students.  As Student Council President, she recently presented a plan to key community members regarding ways to better our school and community. On top of being a great student and leader at school, Catalina has also participated and helped with sports and community service projects.  Congratulations!
