Hey Wildcat parents! We are excited to have new, upgraded Chromebooks being issued out to 6th through 12th grade students this year. We will have these devices for at least four years. With great tech also comes great responsibility.
Here's a quick guide to chat with your kids about taking care of their Chromebooks:
• Be Careful, Be Kind: These are school property, so treat them with respect! Food and drinks can damage them. Don’t write on or scratch into them.
• Keep the Case On: Keep the protective case on. A drop can be a disaster. Removing the case can damage the Chromebook screen.
• Power Up Responsibly: Use the provided charger and charge your Chromebook every night.
• Surfing Safety: Talk about online safety. We have a filter, but it's good to have a conversation about responsible browsing and avoiding inappropriate content.
• See Something, Say Something: We encourage our students to tell us right away if something isn’t right or there are damages to the Chromebook.
Bonus Tip: Set up a designated charging station at home to keep things organized and prevent accidents.
